Hatha & Yin Yoga

Yoga is union and boundlessness

Yoga is union and boundlessness. Hatha is “Ha” sun and “ta” moon, Hatha means the Yoga to bring balance between the sun and the moon in us. It is a physical preparation for higher possibilities. Each posture will guide the energy in a different way and practicing will bring awareness to our body for a better understanding of ourselves.

The Sanskrit word हठ haṭha literally means “force”, alluding to a system of physical techniques to try to preserve and channel vital force or energy inside us.

The class will be 1:30 hour and will include meditations, yoga asanas (postures) and breathing methods.

Yin yoga has the same goals and objectives as any other school of Yoga; however, it directs the stimulation normally created in the asana “pose” portion of the practice, deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues.

Yin yoga targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercise.

Yin Yoga allows...

many of the muscle groups to soften, while exposing the joints to pressure as the skeleton is pulled apart. The more we hold a pose, the deeper we will start to go within.

We will gently start to notice what is going on in our life, right here, right now – without adding anything else, without taking anything away from the experience. With clarity we will start to see what is really needed, beyond the cravings and aversions that normally move us.
